She completed her education at Dover High School in Dover, DE, June 1977 and Delaware State University in Dover, DE, receiving the Bachelor of Science Degree, May 1996.
She retired as an Administrative II Secretary from the state of Delaware with over 25 years of service. She served as secretary of Calvary Baptist Church for over five years, as well as the registrar and secretary of Calvary Bible Institute in Dover, DE and an affiliate center of Friends International Christian University in Mercer, CA.
Her participation in organizations and activities included: the Department of Public Instruction Staff Association, President; Kent County Educational Secretaries Association, President; and Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI), Board Member. She received the prestigious award of “Who’s Who Among Vocational and Technical Students in America” as well as numerous honors, recognitions and certificates from various religious, educational and civic agencies.
Her favorite scripture was: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. She attempted to live her life the best she knew how according to God’s word.
She was preceded in death by her mother, the late Reverend Jean Kathryn Allen Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 37 years, Bobby L. Jackson; her two daughters, Tarra R. Jackson and Tia L. Jackson-Truitt, PhD (Jabarr), Atlanta, GA; father, Roger H. Wilson, Dover, DE; brother, R. Darrell H. Wilson (Katrina), Milford, DE; two grandchildren, Roger-DeSean L. Jackson and Saniya L. Truitt, Atlanta, GA; nephew, Darron Johnson-Wilson; niece, Raydia Johnson-Wildy (Brian); great-nieces, Ryana Johnson, Rayna Johnson, and Raelyn Wildy, Milford, DE; aunt and godmother, Betty A. Washington, Lewes, DE; aunt, Anita Holden, Smyrna, DE; uncle, Leon Wilson, San Diego, CA; brother-in-law, Vonnie Wilson and sister-in-law, Katie Wilson, Bossier, LA; spiritual brothers and sisters, Dwight and Regina Neal, Shepherdstown, WV, and Reverends Norman and Cynthia Fields, Dover, DE; spiritual uncle and aunt, William (Bill) and Iris Wilson, Dover, DE; a number of extended sons, daughters, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus; as well as host of cousins and friends.
