Pvt Driscoll enlisted into the army on May 19, 1873 in Chicago Il. His listed civilian occupation was laborer. He was described as 5'6", light hair, hazel eyes with a light complexion.

On June 3, 1873, Driscoll reported for duty at Ft Snelling MN & was assigned to Company I, 7th US Cavalry. Company I was commanded by Capt Myles Keogh.

Company I was attached to LTC George Armstrong Custer's battalion during the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Driscoll was killed sometime during the fighting.

After the battle, most of Company I was found between Calhoun Ridge and Last Stand Hill. It is likley Driscoll's unidentfieid remains were first buried where they had been found.

In 1881 all known battlefield burials were reburied in a mass grave on top of Last Stand Hill.
