He died on a date following the 1850 census prior to 1860. Abraham was one of 13 children born to John and Catherine (Rogers) Etherton. There was no child by the name of "Swan" as the old script abbreviation for Abraham was miss read in the census. Also Mary and Polly were the same child. Therefore, there were actually only 13 children: Perry, Mary, Joshua, George, Anna, Nancy, Abraham, William, John, Howard, Sarah, Wilson, and David.

A gravestone was not found for Abraham when I located the burial place on the old family farm.
