Pvt Dalious enlisted into the army at Toledo OH on November 5, 1872. His listed civilian occupation was railroader. Dailous was described as 5'10", brown eyes, dark hair with a ruddy complexion.

On December 2, 1872. Dalious reported for duty at Edwardtown KY & was assigned to Company A, 7th US Cavalry. His daily duties were listed as pioneer.

On March 26, 1875, while posted at Livingston Alabama, Dalious deserted. He was arrested the next day in Selma. Dalious was sentenced at a court martial six months confinement & $10 fortfiture of pay.

On May 26, 1876, Dalious was promoted to corporal. His daily duties were listed as quartermaster teamster.

During the Battle of the Littlle Bighorn Company A was assigned to Maj Marcus Reno's battalion. Dalious was killed during the retreat from the Valley Fight on the east side of the Little Bighorn River.

He was likely first buried where his remains were found. In 1881 all known battlefield burials were moved to a mass grave on top of Last Stand Hill.
