J.C. was born in Duncan, OK, to James Louis and Margaret Peggy Zylka Bowers. J.C. graduated high school in Velma, OK and went on to study videography at Frances Tuttle Vo-Tech. He worked for Channels 34, 43, and 4, Remington Park, and Summit Video Productions before starting his own Company-Campfire Creative.

J.C. was also active with his daughter, Hunter's, school activities, including choir and drama productions. At Southmoore High School, J.C. was known as "PTA Dad" for his enthusiasm and willingness to help with anything asked of him, including copy duties and test monitoring. He also devoted much of his free time to videotaping the choir's performances and the drama productions.
Everyone who knew J.C. knew of his love for anything "Disney". Walt Disney World and the magic it held was one of his favorite places on earth--he could spend days upon days on the monorail!

J.C. is survived by his wife, Keri Bowers; daughters, Hunter Bowers and Ryanne Baughman and her husband, Travis; parents Jim and Peggy Bowers of Celina, TX; sister, Therese Pennington and her husband, Shane of Prosper, TX; nieces, Faith and Ella Pennington of Prosper, TX; nephews, Nathan and Corban Pennington of Prosper, TX; aunt and uncle, Bert and Joan Topping of Forked River, NJ; and cousins, Jeffrey Topping of Forked River, NJ and Karen Topping of Washington, DC.

A celebration of J.C.'s life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel. ln lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made in J.C.'s name to the choir and drama departments at Southmoore High School.
