Jerry C. McCamish, 65, of Nebraska City, Neb., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, of B cell lymphoma, at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service was Thursday at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating.

Mr. McCamish was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Hontubby, Okla.; the son of Baxter and Gertrude (Oglesby) McCamish. He attended school and graduated from Heavener High School in Heavener, Okla.

He was united in marriage to Barbara A. Spidell on Dec. 17, 1966, in Omaha, Neb.

Mr. McCamish was a heavy equipment operator for Kerr-McGee for many years. He also did roofing and had worked for Craig Beman Food Service in Nebraska City. He was a former resident of Gillette until moving to Nebraska City.

Mr. McCamish was one who loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved gardening and bird watching but one of his greatest loves was taking the grandkids camping.

He is survived by his children Toni Rowe of McCook, Neb.; Donald McCamish of Gillette, and Patrick McCamish of Nebraska City; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, Gary McCamish, Kansas, and Chad McCamish of Sheridan; other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 5, 2003, his daughter Laura Godfrey on March 29, 2012 and a young sister.
