John Nathan Lovelace - - Another old pioneer has passed from this earth to the beyond to partake of the joys assured those who put their trust in Him, the Ruler of the Universe. John Nathan Lovelace died at his home, west of this city, Monday afternoon, after several days of sickness. The deceased was born in Charlotte county, Virginia, on the 18th day of July, 1821, and was hence in his seventieth year at the time of his death. He moved to Missouri in 1838. In 1852 he was married to Miss Maria Shearin, who together with seven children - - four sons, C. W., J. H., W. L., and S. H., and three daughters, Mrs. G. B. Hardin of Maxwell and Mrs. W. H. Miles and Mrs. U. W. Brown of Colusa - - survive him. Mr. Lovelace came to California in 1867 and settled in Bear Valley. Last spring he moved near Colusa. Mr. Lovelace joined the Baptist Church in 1835, and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since. The funeral occurred this Tuesday afternoon from the residence of S. Harris, and was largely attended by many friends and relatives.
