Sgt Considine enlisted into the army on August 23, 1865 in Philadelphia PA. His listed civilian occupation was watchmaker. Considine was described as 5'7", blue eyes, brown hair with a ruddy complexion.

He was assigned to the 6th US Cavalry at Frederick MD. He was discharged at the completion of his enlistment on August 23, 1868. Considine reenlisted on January 19, 1870. He was assigned to the 8th US Cavalry on October 26, 1872 at Ft Union NM. After his second enlistment expired, Considine reenlisted & was assigned on Februay 10, 1875 to Company G, 7th US Cavalry at Shreveport LA.

During the Battle of the Little Bighorn Company G, was attached to Maj Marcus Reno's battlion. Considine was killed during the retreat from the Valley Fight.

Considine was likely first buried where his remains had been found. In 1881 all known battlefield burials were re-buried in a mass grave on Last Stand Hill.
