Harry MacDonald Harrell Sr., 79, of the 1300 block of 38th St., died Wednesday, March 10, 1999.

Harry was born in Pasquotank County, N.C. He was retired from the civil service and a was World War II Army veteran. Harry was a devoted husband and father.

Survivors include his daughter, Darlene H. Moody and husband, the Rev. Willie S. Moody, of Norfolk; two sons, Harry M. Harrell Jr. of Newark, N.J., and James L. Harrell of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Harry was predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Harrell.

A homegoing service will be conducted at noon Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Lambert's Point by the Rev. Anthony C. Paige. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. The family will meet at 2728 Middle Towne Crescent, Norfolk.
