Shelley Jeanne NELSON (06/01/1971 - 04/17/2016)

Shelley Jeanne Nelson went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and loved ones on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Shelley was born on June 1, 1971 in Omak, WA to Janice Evarts and Ken Nelson. She resided in Spokane, WA with her mother Janice and siblings Kelli Jo Nelson and Douglas John Nelson. At age 19 Shelley was diagnosed with M.S. and her journey began. Shelley met Tom Hallbrook at her job detailing at Mister Magic. Shelley and Tom had a beautiful son Thomas Martin Hallbrook. Even though Shelley battled M.S. for 25 years, you would never have known it. She was a strong person, a loving mother, and a wonderful daughter. Shelley had a contagious personality and lived life to the fullest. Shelley will be missed deeply. Shelley is survived by her son Tom, his wife Brittney and their daughter Nevaeh; her mother, father and stepmother, Joci; three brothers, Doug, Kaelan, and Cody Nelson; Cody's wife Janelle and children Aubree Rose and Grace Kelly; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Shelley rests in peace with her sister Kelli Jo; grandfathers John Truitt and Kelly Nelson; uncles John Truitt, Jr., Don Truitt, and Allen Rose; Aunt Diane Armstrong; and her cousin Cain Bentley. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley. A family potluck will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
