Mattie Thomas, 87, of Normal, formerly of Chicago, passed away Thursday (April 21, 2016) at Heritage Health, Normal.
Mattie was born Sept. 1, 1928 in Lumpkin, Georgia, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Green Johnson. She married Ruben Thomas on July 6, 1987 in Chicago. He survives.
Also surviving are their children, Cathrine (Richard) Thomas, Cynthia (Larry) Jones, Vanessa Florez, Angela (Ronald) Wilder and Elvin (Patti) Florez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a brother, Clyde Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters and her children, Raymond, Eugene, Mary and Elaine.
