Mr. Randall Gray Wood, age 78 of Smyrna, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2016. Randall was born in Pigeon Creek, Alabama and was the son of Travis and Byrd Wood and the brother of Steve Wood and the late Travis Wood.
Mr. Wood was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Shirley, his children Melody Mulaik and Barry Hucks, his four grandchildren and five (5) great grandchildren.
Randall graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Alabama and ultimately attained a Master’s of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
He also served in the United States Air Force. Randall had a diverse and interesting life with occupations ranging from munitions supervisor to defense contractor where he programmed the flight simulator for the B-1 Bomber. One of his most rewarding experiences was where he had the opportunity to set up the computer systems for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Philadelphia, Mississippi and met his bride Shirley Wood. After his retirement Randall became “Pa” and assisted with the care and raising of his grandchildren Ashley and Christopher.
