Richmond, Ind - Rita Mae Harvey, age 63, of Richmond, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Reid Health.
Born July 5, 1952, in Richmond, Indiana, to George M. and Florence Leonard Price, Rita lived most of her life in Richmond. She was a 1970 graduate of Richmond High School and graduated from Ivy Tech. She worked as an interior decorator, decorating many businesses and new homes in Indianapolis and Richmond. Rita served as an officer for the Indiana State Home Builder's Association and Wayne County Home Builder's Association. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, traveling, and landscaping. Rita was a caregiver to her family and many friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori Neely of Richmond; grandchildren, Andrew Neely, Johnathan Neely, and Hannah Neely, all of Richmond and Madison Stevens and Isiah Stevens, both of Georgia; great-granddaughter, Angel Neely of Richmond; sister, Ruth Baber of Florida; brother, George R. Price of Pendleton, Indiana; nieces, including Theresa Woodruff; nephews; cousins; special friend, Tom Joiner; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Harvey, who died June 23, 2009; daughter, Lisa Stevens; mother, Florence Ricci; and father, George Price.
Visitation for Rita Mae Harvey will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Christ United Church, 3430 Backmeyer Road, with Rev. Brett Karanovich officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery.
