Eric Alvin Blanton, 82, of 2874 Flamingo Lane, Marianna, FL., 32446, died Saturday night, April 23, 2016 at the Malcolm Randall V. A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. His funeral will be a graveside service held Wednesday morning, April 27, 2016 at 11 AM in the Blakely Cemetery. Rev. Robert Mitchell will be officiating. The service will end with Military Rites as Mr. Blanton was a U. S. Marine. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 AM until funeral time at 11 AM.
Mr. Blanton was born on March 22, 1934 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Holly Blanton and Adna Lucille Brandon Clark. He was a retired electrician, having worked for the Talquin Electric Company of Quincy, FL. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was also a diesel mechanic during his military stint.
His survivors include 2 sisters: Judith Blanton Pinkston of Sneads, FL, Elizabeth LaRae Jemison & husband Steve of Chattahoochee, Fl. and a brother: Manis Randolph Blanton of Clovis, NM. He also has 3 Nieces: Janis Johnson, Jeanie Childers & husband Cameron, all of Sneads, Fl., Angela M. Owens of Cottondale, Fl., and a nephew: Charles Jeffery Johnson of Sneads, Fl.
