Roy O. "Chick" Warner, 88, who was formerly of York, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday April 27, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with the Rev. John Trout, officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home. Burial will be in New Hope "Fissels" Church Cemetery, Glen Rock.
Mr. Warner was born on October 7, 1927 in Glen Rock and was a son of the late Vernon L. and Mary L. (Dise) Warner.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served for over 11 years with the Merchant Marines on the Liberty Ships. He retired in 1985 from Precision Component Corporation in York after over 16 years of employment.
He was a life member of West York VFW Post #8951.
Roy is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Kauffman of Sarasota Fla.; two grandsons, Bryan Kauffman and Brett Kauffman, both of York; two brothers, A. Lamar "Bucky" Warner of Shrewsbury and Merle V. Warner of York; and a sister, Mary E. Weaver of New Freedom. He also leaves, extended family and caregivers, Bruce and Karen Shirey and was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Betty J. Foley.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the West York VFW Post #8951, 1800 Andrew St York, PA 17404 or to a Veterans Organization of your choice.
