Mrs. Anna Bier passed away at the St. Alexander Home for the Aged Monday morning shortly after seven o clock. Mrs. Bier had been in failing health the past several months and died of ailments common to the aged. She had spent the past two years at the hospital.
The deceased was born in November, 1842,in Austria. She grew to womanhood in the old country and was united in marriage to Joseph Bier who preceded her in death some four years ago. She came to this country with her husband and children about forty years ago and they made their home in New Ulm since then. The children also preceded Mrs. Bier in death. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jos. Kloeckl of this city.
Funeral services were held at the Catholic church this morning at nine o'clock after which the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Catholic Mother's society at the time of death.
