On Nov. 27, 2013, the good Lord took Sally (Hartman) Alex, 72, of Glennie, formally of Reese, and made an Angel of her. "She was the love of our lives."
Sally was born Aug. 6, 1941 in Reese, daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Neveau) Hartman. She was a 1959 graduate of Reese High School. On Oct. 7, 1961 she was married to Ronald Alex in Reese. She enjoyed crafting, playing bingo, going to casinos, good meals, watching Detroit Tiger baseball and being surrounded by her family.
In addition to her husband Ron, Sally is survived by her two daughters, Hiede Alex (Houghtaling) and Ronda (Alex) Repkie; her daughter-in-law, Melissa Alex-Halm; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Donald Hartman of Tawas and Teddy (Cecile) Hartman of Spokane, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Eugene Alex, who died Sept. 2, 2006 while serving with the U.S. Army in Baghdad, Iraq.
In honoring Sally's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of her life will take place later for her immediate family. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Yellow Ribbon Guard, P.O. Box 31 Bay City, MI.
