Frances S. Fry, 86, of Upper Frankford died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Forest Park Health Center and Rehabilitation, Carlisle.

She was born March 8, 1925, in Carlisle, the daughter of James and Minnie Frances Nickle Snyder.

Mrs. Fry was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Fry, who died July 23, 2002.

She belonged to First United Presbyterian Church and TOPS.

She is survived by one daughter, Love F. Baker and her husband Fred of Newville; and five sons, Clarence "Mike" Fry II and his wife Elaine of Newville, Joel D. Fry and his wife Charlotte of Landisburg, Luke S. Fry and his wife Tina of Newville, Mark K. Fry of Carlisle and Seth N. Fry of Marquette, Mich.; three brothers, Lee Snyder of Carlisle, Carl Snyder of Hayes, Va., and Ray Snyder of Newville; 10 grandchildren, Alisa Elicker and her husband Jesse, Danylle Minsker and her husband Tim, Bonnie Fry, Hilda Baker, Michael Fry and his wife Laura, Frederick Baker II and his wife Laurie, Patrick Baker and wife Eliza, Margie Fry, Susan Fry, and Elizabeth Fry; and five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Baker, Topenga and Sophia Malloy and Krista and Karla Elicker.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Hope F. Fry; one infant grandson, Mark Fry II; and one brother, Ralph Webb.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, 111 Big Spring Ave., with the Rev. Vernon Gauthier officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Big Spring Area Food Bank, c/o Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroads School Road, Newville.
