Etta Mae "Billie" (Waldon) Thomas died Aug. 15 at Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, Calif.
She was an "Aqua Fit" instructor at the YMCA as well as a teacher of computer skills at the Burbank Adult School. She also worked in the administrative field at Xerox Manufacturing and at Walker Zanger Marble & Tile Co.
She was born Dec. 3, 1934 in Crawfordsville to Homer Glen and Wanda Waldon Grimes. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1952, and later moved to California where she met and married Donald Thomas, her husband of 48 years who preceded her in death in 2002.
Survivors include children Donis (Rudy) Rodarte, Becky (Brad) Graham, and Robert (Maria) Thomas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; her sister Janet Walls and a niece.
A private celebration of her life will take place on Oct. 2.
