The funeral of Ed Jakes, brother of Miss Mabel Jakes of this city, was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Jakes home in South Delphi. Rev. Rea Martin of the Presbyterian church officiated, assisted by Rev. R. O. Kimberlin. Mr. Jakes died at the Home hospital, Friday morning of dropsy. He was 56 years old, and was born and reared in Delphi. He leaves a brother, John W. Jakes of Logansport and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Sines, Rossville and Mabel Jakes, Delphi. Interment was made in the Masonic cemetery.
