Sally Jones Jenkins, age 71, of Madisonville, returned to her heavenly home on Friday, April 22, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Sally was blessed with a large family that loved her deeply. She was married to her best friend, Charles Jenkins, for 50 years. Together they raised three children. Sally was an educator at heart. Always there to solve a problem. She retired from Douglas Cherokee Head Start after 25 years, where she touched the lives and hearts of many children.
Survivors, husband, Charlie Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Shannon Stanton; granddaughter, Brooklynn Stanton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Charles Moses, Wanda and Dean Littreal; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.D. and Anna Lee Jones, Sam Jones, Cecil and Wilma Jones; nieces and nephews and spouses, Matt Jones, Robert and Laura Jones, Brad and Stacey Moses, Tracy and Johnny Sutton, Kristy and Scott Edwards, Steve Littreal, Craig and Kristi Jones, Jessica and Jeff Brooks and Josh Jones; many great nieces and nephews and special friend, Joyce Stakely; she has four special angels here on earth, Megan Jones, Caroline and Hannah Brooks and Brooklynn Stanton, whom she loved to "China and back"! Preceded in death by sons, Patrick and Rodney Jenkins; parents, Dud and Minnie Jones; nephews, Jason Jones, Mark Jones; niece, Teresa Thompson; sister-in-law, Janice Jones.
Funeral 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Randy Bookout officiating. Interment 11:00 A.M. Monday, Hopewell Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship fund for her granddaughter, Brooklynn Stanton and forwarded to Wilma Jones, 1638 Niles Ferry Rd., Madisonville, TN 37354. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville. -
