Dora "Arlene" Rogers was born in Laverne to Lucy (Crowner) and Roy Brisendine August 15, 1931, and departed this life on April 23, 2016, at 84 years of age. Arlene attended the May School where she graduated in 1950. On December 2, 1950, Arlene was united in marriage to Wayne Rogers in Oklahoma City. To this union four children were born: Linda, Glenda, Larry and Cindy. The family lived in Oklahoma City until moving west of May in 1966 to manage the Rogers family homestead. Arlene worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime, but was best known as a loving homemaker and caregiver. She spent her last two years living and enjoying moments with her Parkview Pointe family in Laverne, Oklahoma.Arlene created handmade clothing and gifts from the heart for her children, special nieces and grandchildren. She was known for her heartwarming smile, caring spirit and positive and courageous outlook. She uplifted others each day. Granny's children, grandchildren and her "greats" were her pride and joy. Generations of her family members always knew they were loved, as Arlene made certain everyone received a special handwritten card on their birthday or special occasion.Arlene is survived by: her daughter, Glenda & husband Jimmie Ellyson of Kingfisher; son, Larry & wife Shellie Rogers, and daughter Cindy & husband Kyle Hennigh both of the May/ Laverne area; and son in law John Krob of Alva. Grandchildren: Grandson Kenny (Star) Schollenbarger and great grand daughters, Makinna & Marlee; Grandson Wayne Schollenbarger; Grandson Levi Ellyson and Great Granddaughter Ellie and Fiance, Sandy; Grandson Jesse (Tara) Rogers and Great grandchildren, Hannah and Jaxon; Granddaughter, Emma Rogers, Amber and Alexis; Grandson, Kaleb Hennigh and Great Grandsons Karsen and Jase; and Granddaughter Carrie (Steve) Hardison and Great Grandsons, Tristan and Grayson. Sister's-in-laws Sharon Brisendine, Shirley Weiszbrod, Mary Harber, Stella Freeman, Glenda Reiner and Gwen; Brothers in laws: Eldon (Virginia) Rogers, Donald Rogers and Tom Rogers; many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, daughter Linka Krob, Sisters- Virgie Hand, Melva Chance and Bernice Brisby and Brothers Verlin, Arvid and Veldon Brisendine.
