Mrs. Angel

Belle Sorrells Angel, 89, of 45 Jim Mann Rd., died Friday in a Sylva hospital. She was a native of Macon County, and a daughter of the late Andy and Carrie Pressley Sorrells. She was married to the late Dave Harrison Angel, who died in 1977.

Surviving are a daughter, Edna Guffie of Franklin; a son, Edgar Angel of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Bertha Barrett and Myrtle Wooten, both of Franklin; three brothers, Rev. Fred Sorrells and Grover Sorrells of Franklin, and Henry "Jack" Sorrells of Canton; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, in Wells Grove Baptist Church, of which she was a charter member. Revs. Melvin Brooks and W.A. Showers officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Wells Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Jay Jennings, 31 Honeycutt Rd., Franklin.
