In 1956, he moved to Des Moines, IA. He worked for the City of Des Moines for 30 years before retiring. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Sunday, February 8 at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd, Clive.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 8, at the First Christian Church, 2500 University, Des Moines.

His family was a joy to him. He will be missed by daughters, Vivian (Jerry) Mogensen and Teresa (Paul) Erickson and son, Edwin (Francine) Griffith; grandchildren Heather, Megan, Laurel, Joshua, Lindsey, Jay, and Meridith and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his wife of 52 years, Lorena and son, Laurence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or to First Christian Church for disaster relief.
