Reverend Richard B. McFadden, Sr. , 88, of Macon passed away peacefully early Saturday Morning, April 23,2016.

Funeral Services to honor his life will be held Wednesday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Brian Cameron officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday, April 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon.

Born in Macon to the late Richard A. and Mary McFadden Reverend McFadden was a graduate of Lanier High School where he was a Platoon leader in ROTC. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1949-1953.

After his time in the Navy, Richard became an ordained pastor on October 2, 1953 and was a long time member of White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church. He also retired from The United States Postal Service after 27 years where he worked on vehicle maintenance. Reverend McFadden was also a Master Mason.

Reverend McFadden was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Frances “Louise” McFadden, two sons; Richard McFadden, Jr. and Tim McFadden as well as one brother and four grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters; Patsy Arnold of Macon, Linda (Jimmy) Rozier of Forsyth, and Sandra ( Mark) Jones of Cordele. Sons; Thomas A. McFadden of Macon, Mark A. McFadden (Debbie Raulerson) of Bonaire, Scott (Kim) McFadden, Juliette; daughter in law, Vickie McFadden of Gray. 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Brother, Hubert McFadden of Macon and Sisters, Betty Harrell and Mary Jane Brock. As well as several nieces and nephews.
