CLARA JANE CLARK FERGUSON
After a 13 year courageous battle with cancer, CLARA JANE CLARK FERGUSON, 55, of Salt Rock, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord November 1, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Mt. Calvary Church, Salt Rock, by Rev. Ronald Eplin. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. She was born July 8, 1956, in Cabell County, a daughter of Carroline Sowards Fudge of Proctorville, Ohio, and the late Estel Clark. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Church for 32 years, where she taught Sunday school and was a custodian for 15 years. She is also survived by her husband, Darell Ferguson; three daughters, Angela Ferguson and Joel Bailey, Venessa Chapman, and Kristy Mershad and her husband Joe; two sisters, Linda Smoot and Brenda Combs; one brother, Clyde Clark; four grandchildren, Cody, Eli and Aaron Chapman and Curtis Bailey. She was loved by everyone that met her and touched many with her unwavering courage and strength. She always tried to be an inspiration and example to others. Her family would like to thank the staff of HIMG for their care and support during her long fight. We would also like to thank the staff of the Hospice House for their special care in her final days. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702.
