U.S. Veteran Carl F. Harvey, Sr., 82, of Moncks Corner, husband of Betty Jean Hill Harvey, passed away Saturday evening, April 23, 2016, at his residence.Carl was born September 23, 1933, at Summerville, the son of Charles Fred Harvey and Grace Ward Harvey.Carl served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Being active in his community, he was a member of American Legion Post 126, Moncks Corner Lions Club and was an honorary member of Murray Hunt Club. His many hobbies included gardening, working with his tractor and watching Braves games.Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Pam Dulude and her husband, John, of Moncks Corner; and Anna Grubb and her husband, Randy, of Roanoke, VA; a son, C. Fred Harvey, Jr. of Walterboro; four grandchildren, Michael Dulude and his wife, Liz; Mark Dulude and his wife, Ashley; Jenny Grubb and Andrew Grubb. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marguerite Harvey Tucker and Laura Harvey Burbage.His funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the service (11 a.m. until noon).Memorials may be made to Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, 200 N. Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, S. C. 29461.
