Elmer G. Bannach, 81, of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Calio, ND passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Grand Forks.

Elmer George Bannach was born July 8, 1934 in Wales, ND the son of George and Agnes (Fetsch) Bannach. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Calio. Upon the completion of his education, Elmer began farming and continued to farm until his retirement. He was an honorary life time member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1779 of Devils Lake, ND and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 350 of East Grand Forks, MN. Also, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Munich, ND and attended Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND.

He is survived by a sister, Barbara (Dewayne) Janzen, Grand Forks, ND; sisters-in-law, Mary (Mrs. Jerome) Bannach, Grand Forks, ND, Janelle (Mrs. Edwin) Bannach, Cando, ND; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Edwin, Victor, Jerome; sisters, Anna Marie Bannach, Marlene Garritson; nephews, Kenneth Janzen and Danny Garritson.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. rosary service Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church

Burial: St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Calio, ND, at a later date.
