JUSTIN MATTHEW SNYDER

HERMITAGE, PA. - Justin Matthew Snyder, 31, of 2304 Jordyn Way, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Dillsburg, Pa.

Justin was born in Greenville, Pa., on Jan. 20, 1985, to Theresa Palmer Snyder and Alan Snyder.

He was of the Christian faith.

Justin was a 2003 graduate of Kennedy Catholic and attended Thiel College before enlisting in the U.S. Army on Dec. 31, 2008.

Justin Snyder defined in every aspect what it sincerely meant to be a son, brother and uncle. He was a proud retired combat veteran of the U.S. Army, having fought in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011. Justin will forever be remembered as a devout race fan having pursued his passion for the sport by moving to central Pennsylvania with a goal to make his mark on the racing world.

Justin’s exuberant laugh and compassionate smile were all things people close to Justin would use to describe him. He had a heart of gold and was admired as a protector of everyone that was considered close to him. He had one life lesson to proclaim, “It’s not about how much money you have in this world, but the friends and family you make along the way. Do the best you can with everything you have…” and that’s how he lived each day of his life.

Justin is survived by his mother, Theresa Snyder of Hermitage; his father, Alan Snyder of Hermitage; one sister, Stephanie R. Snyder of Hermitage; two brothers, Derek Snyder and his fiancée, Stephanie Scheuermann, of Hermitage and Ryan Snyder of St. Louis; his maternal grandparents, Harry and Delores Palmer of Mercer, Pa.; and two nieces, Julian Snyder of Grove City, Pa., and Lily Snyder of St. Louis.

Justin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis and Dorothy Snyder.

A funeral service will be held at the Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 144 S. Pitt St. in Mercer, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 11 a.m., with Dr. F. Stanley Keehlwetter, dean of Chapel at Grove City College, officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Harrisville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate all contributions/donations be made to a few of the charities that were important to Justin, Mission 22 (www.mission22.com), which fights to help veterans with PTSD; or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarrior.org), an organization that helps raise awareness for the nations injured veterans.
