Marc graduated from Refugio High School in 1956 and enlisted as a freshman in the TX A&M Army Corps that same year. While in college, he played cornet in the Aggie Band for four years, and sang with the A&M Singing Cadets for three years. Upon graduation from TX A&M in 1960, Marc had a degree in Chemical Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. As part of the Army Signal Corps, he was stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ and in South Korea. After leaving the service, Marc took a job with various industries including the Volunteer Army Ammunitions Plant, Detrex Company, Columbian Chemicals Company, and the Spontex Company. He spent time working in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, California, and Texas, and overseas in the Philippines. During this time he earned his Master's in Business Administration from LaVerne University.
Marc loved Barbershop singing and was a member of the Wheeling, West Virginia Chorus, the Nashville Music City Chorus, and the Fort Worth Texas Millionaires. Other hobbies included woodworking, traveling, and scuba diving. He collected seashells over a span of forty years from many different countries. Marcus retired in 1996 and moved back to Texas, his home state.
