Anna Schumacher was born October 2, 1923 at Linton, ND the daughter of Wendelin and Margaret (Glatt) Schumacher. The family moved to Glencross, SD in 1925 where Anna attended country school. They moved to a farm near Edgeley, ND in 1936 and Anna attended the Glenmore Township school. She married John Gefre on January 25, 1950 in Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley. They farmed north of Edgeley until March, 1977 when they moved to Wahpeton, ND. John died on December 22, 1986. In July of 1994, she married Donald Kelly. Donald died in 2002 and Anna moved to Jamestown, ND in August, 1997. In October of 2012 Anna moved to Columbia, MO where she resided until her death.
Survivors include two sons, Windy Gefre, Karl (Marie) Gefre; two daughters, Bette (Robert) Everman, Dolores (Tim) Gefre-Henke; one brother, Peter Schumacher; one sister, Elizabeth (Peter) Marquart; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Marie Peterson, Eva Schlosser, and Christina Melles; and brothers, Frank, Jacob, Sebastian, and Baltzer.
Anna enjoyed life, her children, tatting, reading, letter writing, playing the organ, her harmonica, cooking, baking, and people.
