DAVENPORT — Nancy “Stitch” McWilliams, 73, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Services in celebration of her life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at First Christian Church, 510 E. 15th St., Davenport. Pastor Linda Hunsaker will officiate. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church.

Mrs. McWilliams was born in 1942 in Bevier, Mo., to Russel and Alice Bright. She married Dallas McWilliams on Sept. 10, 1961, in Centerville, Iowa. For a time, she volunteered with the Davenport Public School System. She was employed as the building manager of the Kahl Education Center in downtown Davenport until her retirement in 2003.

Nancy was a longtime member of First Christian Church, where she was active in and held numerous offices in Disciple Women’s Ministries, served as a deacon and was a tremendous hostess who took great pleasure in preparing and serving meals for church activities.

Survivors include her husband, Dallas; sons, Dallas Mark (Chris) McWilliams, Fredericksburg, Va., and Chad McWilliams, Davenport; grandchildren, Patrick McWilliams, Connor McWilliams, Andrew McWilliams and Karisa Hoag; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Jim) Christy, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Vera (Don) Grissom, Davenport; and brother-in-law, Lain (Joan) McWilliams, Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin McWilliams; her parents; and sisters, Virginia Tracey and Janet Smoot
