Lisa Frank always said she didn't need a psychology degree to do her job. Her many clients opened up to her during her more than two decades as a hairstylist, and she knew that she could make someone's day better just by listening to what they had to say, said Michael E. Frank, her husband of 24 years.
"I think what drew her there the most was the people and the lives that she knows that she touched," he said about her work.
Lisa A. Frank of West deer died Friday, April 22,2016, after a long battle with cancer. She was 51.
Mr. Frank said he has heard from dozens of her clients since word of her passing spread. Even though he'd never met them before, he told them all that he felt like he knew them. "Lisa wouldn't tell me everything, trust me," Mr.Frank said. "But she told me all the good stories."
Mrs. Frank was born and raised in West View and graduated from North Hills High School before attending the Franco Beauty accademy. She worked as a stylist for more than 20 years, said Suzy Wiedemer, Mrs. Frank's Friend and business partner at Suzy and Co. Hair Design in
McCandless. The Pair met while working at a salon together in the 1990's-back when Mrs.Frank had a big '80's perm, Wiedemer said- and had been friends ever since. When Wiedemer opend her salon in McCandless in 1996, Mrs.Frank went to work with her. Four years ago, Mrs. Frank became a partner in the business. "She was our
Mama Bear," Wiedemer said. "She worried about everyone."
Her customers adored her, Wiedemer said. She was always loving and easy to get along with. Mrs. Frank's first priority was always her two children, Alyson, 14, and Evan,11. "She would drop everything and just play a board game with them," Wiedemer said. Mrs. Frank Loved to travel, her husband said. They visited Hawaii and just about every Island in the Carribean, he said. "Once the kids came, we started doing the Disney trips," Mr. Frank said. The two met at a party at his parents' home in Ross about 30 years ago, Mr. Frank said. He always called her beautiful." "She never wanted to wear the lampshade on her head at the party, but you walked in the room and you just knew she was there," he said. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Frank is survived by her two children, Alyson and Evan; two sisters, Cheryl Marino and Debbie Bello; a brother, Thomas Crawford; and many nieces and Nephews.
