She was born on March 7, 1920 in Madison, the daughter of John M. and Johanna (Weber) Skolaski. She attended St. James Grade School and graduated from Madison West High School. In her younger years she worked at Woolworth's and Western Union. Julia was united in marriage to Edwin R. Wright on July 5, 1948, at St. James Catholic Church. Julia was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church. She volunteered much of her time to the Catholic Multicultural Center, formerly St. Martin House, as well as at Arbor View Nursing Home and St. Mary's Care Center.
