Mr. Wilkes was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Turner England Fellowship Sunday School Class, Webb Lodge # 166 F & AM, Unity Court #21 O of A and Scottish Rite.
Family members in addition to his wife include two daughters: Kay W. Simon and husband Joey of Grovetown and Mary W. Young and husband Joe of Evans; two sons: David Baum Wilkes, III and wife Jean of Augusta and the late Rev. Canon Larry Glynn Wilkes, Sr. and wife Debbie; eight grandchildren, Rebekah Wilkes Luty, Laura Wilkes Smiley, Angela Kay Scarborough, Larry Glynn Wilkes, Jr., Jeremy Adam Mendenhall, Stewart Allan Mendenhall, Kerryl Spivey, and several great and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, April 25, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. at Woodlawn United Methodist Church with Masonic Service with Rev. Jim McCollough officiating. Burial followed in Northview Cemetery in Dublin, GA., Monday, at 2:00 P.M.
