Nancy Tilley Lanning
February 25, 1941 - July 11, 2006
Nancy Tilley Lanning, age 65, of Marion, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at her residence. A native of McDowell County, Nancy was born on February 25, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Claude and Jeannie McCurry Tilley.
She was a member of New Manna Baptist Church.
Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother and sister and affectionately known as "Sweet Nannie".
She formerly was employed by the McDowell Hospital.
Surviving Ms. Lanning are four children: Dawn Silvers and her husband Jimmy, Chris Lanning and his wife Shawn, Tonya Keebaugh & her husband Charlie and Kim Lanning; eight grandchildren: Lacey, Erica, Cory, Tyler, Max, Sage, Ashley and Gypsie; one sister, Doris Parks and one brother, Jack Tilley.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Tony Shirley and Rev. Bruce Ward officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
