Gordon L. Bailey, age 94, resident of of Madison, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 26, 2011.
He was born April 24,1917 in Glen Campell, Pennsylvania to Anna (Price) & Luman Bailey.
He married Betty (Smay) in Newark, New Jersey on 6/24/1943.
He was a foreman at TRW.
Gordon served in the U.S. Army in World War II with combat engineers, in the European Theater. He was a 1935 graduate of Cherry Tree High School. Gordon was a lifetime member of Madison V.F.W. Post 8548, a member of Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and a member of Madison Coin Club. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, singing and going to garage sales. He was a people person and enjoyed being with family, friends and grandchildren.
He is survived by beloved wife of 67 years; Betty Bailey of Madison, two sons; Jerry (Mary) Bailey of Madison and Phil Bailey of Caledonia, Ontario, Canada, granddaughter; Denise (Herb) Schiemann of Madison, grandson; Doug (Gina) Bailey of Madison, and 7 great-grandchildren; Sara, Emily, and Andrew Schiemann, and Dylan, Douglas, Drew Gerald, and Mary Elizabeth Grace Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
