Wesley Robbins, age 93 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence.

Wesley was born on September 29, 1922 in Gordon County, son of the late Amos Talmadge Robbins and Elizabeth Dyer Robbins. He was a Christian and a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Wesley was a well-known master plumber and electrician in Gordon County and prior to his retirement was employed by Hall Reality.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold (Red) Robbins; two sister, Marcella Robbins and Marriam Bowman; and in laws, Clyde and Blanche Carver.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Carver Robbins of Calhoun to whom he was married 68 years on Christmas Eve ; two daughters, Judy Meadows and her husband Scott and Luanne Holbert and her husband Larry all of Calhoun; one brother, John Williamson of Milledgeville; two sisters Doris McCleskey of Clemson, SC and Bernice Johnston of Bartow FL. Five grandchildren, Rev. Barry Saunders and his wife Patti, Greg Saunders and his wife Carla, Michael Saunders and his wife Jennifer, Tishanna McClure DeFoor and Marissa Chilton and her fiancé Clay Chastain; nine great-grandchildren along with several step-children, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday April 16th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Music will be arranged by Kurt Robbins and D.C. Kinman. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Barry Saunders in charge of Graveside Rites.

Pallbearers serving include, Clay Chastain, Freeman Robbins, John Hefner, Josh Kinman, Elwyn Kinman and Edward Fowler. The family will receive friends on Friday April 15th from 4 to 7pm.
