Nelda Ritch Bailey

Nelda Ritch Bailey of Bossier City, LA passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 from natural causes at the age of 88. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath on Airline Drive in Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Bryan Reed assisted by Nelda's son-in-law, Rick. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA at 1:30 p.m.

Nelda lived a long and fulfilling life beginning September 6, 1927 in Haslam, TX. She spent her early years in Logansport, LA. After graduation from high school she attended business school in Shreveport. While attending business school, she met and fell in love with Henry Louis Bailey. In their 23 years of marriage they had four children and later she was blessed with a house full of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all adored her and she adored them; they were her reason for living and what gave her the most joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Louis Bailey; parents, Judson Egin and Minnie Lee Crawford Ritch; brothers, Jack Ritch and William Taylor Ritch; sister, Kathryn Greer and brother-in-law, Louie Greer; granddaughter, Dana Lynn Bailey; and her long-time friend and companion, Mr. Harvey Rebouche.

She is survived by sons, David L. Bailey and wife, Marilyn, Dennis W. Bailey, Gary L. Bailey and wife, Lynette; daughter, Donna Rowe and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Matthew Bailey, Ann Marie Shurden, Lana Mills and husband Matt, Dylan Bailey, Cole Bailey, Caleb Boudreaux, Bailey Rowe, Krissy Rowe, Jason Bailey, Sarah Bailey, 10 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the many loving and caring healthcare professionals that cared for her the past few years.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
