Glen Frazier Hardin, 84, of Erwin, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Center on Aging and Health. Mr. Hardin was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Clyde and Maude Brackins Adkins Hardin. Glen served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for the former National Casket Company, the former G.M.F. and the National Forest Service. Glen loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and gave suckers to people as a way of making friends. He was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardin is preceded in death by wife, Bernice Smith Hardin; brothers, J.B. Hardin, Dewey Adkins, and June Adkins; sisters, Mafery Smith, Edith Adkins, Patsy Hardin, and Ruth Hardin.

Mr. Glen Hardin has left behind to cherish his memories: Daughter: Brenda Dover and husband, Kyle of Erwin; Sons: Robert Hardin of Johnson City, Randy Hardin and wife, Janice of Johnson City; Brothers: Fred Hardin of Erwin, Warren Hardin and wife, Margaret of Erwin; Sisters: Betty Bennett of Erwin, Lois Peterson and husband, Jonas of West Grove, PA; Grandchildren: Leon Dover, Lynn Mayes, Laraine Dover, Elizabeth Vines, John Wesley Hardin; Great Grandchildren: Josh Mayes, Becca Dover, Kerstin Mayes, Leon Dover II, and Abby Mayes; Great Great Grandchild: Aubrey Mayes

The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, to Caris Healthcare and staff and to the Center on Aging and Heath for all of their love and support.

The family respectfully request the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Glen Hardin in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM, April, 24, 2016, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Garland James will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 PM and will continue until the service on Sunday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
