Cynthia Helen Harvey, age 66 years, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. She was born in Bay City on March 10, 1950 to the late Dr. Emerson J. and Helen B. (Birge) Harvey. Cynthia was an avid golfer, loved to cook and spend time at her home. Her greatest joys in life were her nephew and niece, Rob Harvey and Kori Harvey. Cynthia received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hillsdale College in 1972 and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She went on to earn a degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. She was involved with the formation of the Delta College Dental Hygiene program where she served as an associate professor. She is survived by her brothers: William F. Harvey and Robert E. (Cheryl) Harvey, her nephew, Robert E. “Rob” (Shannon) Harvey II, her niece Kori P. Harvey and a great-niece, Blair Colleen Harvey. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey D. Weenink will officiate. Private interment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Delta College Dental Hygiene Program.
