Richard P. Darkes, 72, formerly of Jonestown RD 1, died of natural causes Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in ManorCare, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Pearl D. Regan Darkes, who died Feb. 2. Born July 8, 1928, in Lebanon County, he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Fannie E. Wenger Darkes. He was a former owner/operator of several snack bars. His last location was in the Capitol in Harrisburg. He was a member of Victory Lighthouse in Lickdale and Insight Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired of Lebanon. Surviving are a daughter Sharon, wife of Gregory Keller Sr. of Lebanon; a sister Dora Myrle, wife of Edwin Haldeman of Myerstown; grandsons Gregory Jr. and Jeremy Keller; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10.
