SWANSON, Frances R., 71, of Richmond, departed this life Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Constance Miller; her husband of 45 years, Fred Swanson; two sons, Chris and Freddie Swanson. She is survived by sons, Patrick (Kellie) and Jason (Kaitlin); grandchildren, Cheslyn and Coleton; a sister, Joan Miller; brothers, Rob (Laura) and Donald (Cheryl) Miller; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews. As a student of Thomas Jefferson, she was President of the WEET Radio Booster Club. Fran was active in the Laurel Athletic Assoc., having served as team mother for many years and head of the concession stand. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday (today), at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Mount Calvary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VCU Massey Cancer Center at support.vcu.edu/give/Massey.
