Robert C. "Toby" Arthur, 82, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was born in Craven County on April 2, 1934 to the late Guy Monroe and Lillian Creech Arthur. He farmed for many years before serving the public and local farmers with garden and livestock supplies as an employee of Whitty Milling Co., Five Points Milling Co. (Farm Shed), and Williams Farm Center. He was a longtime member of Spring Hope FWB Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Spring Hope FWB Church with burial to follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Edwards Arthur; two sons, Robert "Bob" Arthur, Jr. (Freda) and Gerald Arthur (Susan); one daughter, JoAnn Cannon (Joel); two brothers, Guy Monroe Arthur, Jr. (Doris) and James F. "Jimmy" Arthur; one sister, Guyola Hall; six grandchildren, Matthew Arthur (Becky), Allison Davis (Phillip), Trista Whitley (Chris), Casey Baird (Seth), Destinee Cannon, and Kayla Cannon; and two great grandchildren, Nora Davis and Keller Davis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Cotten Funeral Home. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the online guestbook by visiting www.cottenfuneralhome.com.
