She was born February 4, 1950 to the late Alfred and Gloria Welter in St. Joseph MO.
She was a graduate of Savannah High School and Platte Business College where she earned an Associate's Degree.
During her working career she was a cook for many years with Jerry Anne's Restaurant and the St. Joseph Country Club.
She loved the outdoors and spending time gardening, mushroom hunting, walking her dog, and deer hunting.
Ms. Douglas is survived by daughters; April Douglas-Bowers (Corry), Megan Douglas, and Shelby Pierson, brother; Dan Welter, half-sister; Jeanette Griggs, niece; Kelli (Jeff) Linch and nephew Lonnie (Lori) Welter.
Visitation will begin at 1 PM Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday evening.
Funeral services 2 PM Friday at our Chapel, Interment Ashland Cemetery in St. Joseph.
