Meredith was the youngest child of Charles O. Evans and Elizabeth Swyers Evans. She attended the Ohio State University and became an executive secretary. Her last job was with Goodyear who had a contract with the Atomic Enery Corporation at Piketon, Ohio. Meredith was an excellent golfer, bowler and bridge player winning several trophies in all three. She was treasurer of the Fairmount Country Club in Jackson, Ohio, a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She played in an office basketball league five months before her death.
