Mrs Mary Hodel Burns
Mrs Mary Hodel Burns, 92, a former resident of Cumberland and mother of Clarence V 'Jiggs' Burns, Sports Editor of the Cumberland News, died Wednesday at her home in Brooklyn. Mrs Burns was the wife of Isaac M Burns and was a daughter of the late William H and Barbara (McMahon) Hodel of Cumberland. Also surviving are four other sons, William and Felix Burns, both of Brooklyn; Robert Burns of St. Albans, VT. and Daniel Burns of Garden City, Long Island, N.Y.; three daughters: Miss Marie Burns, at home; Mrs. Barbara Kutney of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Irene Ehrlich of Napa, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Zapf of Cumberland; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The body is at the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 690 Fourth Avenue, Brooklyn. A service will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Brooklyn. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.
