Gene R. Robertson, age 56, of Lake City, PA passed away Monday April 18, 2016, following a brief illness.

He was born on February 14, 1960 in Buffalo NY, son of the late Charles and Catherine Coleman Robertson.

Gene grew up and graduated from high school in Hamburg, NY and received his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Buffalo. After graduation, he served 10years as a Special Agent for the US Department of Defense, National Security Agency. Gene also received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award on 20 December 1991. For the past 24 years Gene was a very devoted employee of Erie Insurance where he was the Director of the Fraud Division.

A member of the Radio Controlled Club of Erie, he was an avid model airplane enthusiast, both building and flying his own planes. He also loved riding his bicycle. He was an avid photographer and also enjoyed woodworking and home remodeling.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a brother, John Robertson.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vanessa Vianese Robertson; a sister Susan Drosendahl and her husband Steven of NY; a niece Kelly Hengesbach and her husband Rob of Washington D.C.; and two great nephews Gideon and Jude Hengesbach.

Friends may call at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St., (at Powell Ave.), on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Donald Baxter officiating.

Inurnment will be private in Oakwood Memorial Cemetery, Nunda, NY.
