He married Levaun Davenport (1920-1975), aka Ruth Levaun Davenport, on June 30, 1939, in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado. The couple had three children, two sons and one daughter.
Later, he married Erma Eunice (Burt) Bobenhouse (1911-1996). The couple had no children together.

Earl J. Blubaugh, 86, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at his home.
No services are planned. Southern Oregon Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Blubaugh was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Fort Morgan,Colo. He lived in Montana from 1954 to 1979, when he moved to Grants Pass.
He was a member of the Coffee Clutch which met at the Grants Pass Pharmacy for many years.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing, singing, playing the organ, rock collecting, painting and jewelry making.
Survivors include a daughter, [living] of San Jacinto, Calif.; two sons, [living] of Victorville, Calif., and Tom Blubaugh of Billings, Mont.; a sister, Betty Ellison of Custer, S.D.; a brother, Harold Blubaugh of Laie, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
His longtime companion, Ann Richardson, died in 2000, and two grandchildren, Tommy Haupt and Marsha Golsberry, died before him."
