Lucy Jemima Butterfield Medek passed away peacefully on April 16, 2016.

Born March 21, 1921, the daughter of Franklin Butterfield and Lucy Phillips.

Married Delbert Butcher in 1939; later divorced. Married Joseph Medek in 1960.

She loved camping, fishing, and hunting, even at ninety-three years old. She loved her rose garden. She also loved to read.

Survived by her children, Lucy (David) Reeves, Shirley Jones, Mildred (Don) Mace, Delbert (Pat) Butcher, and Leo Butcher, step-children, Charles (Kathy) Butcher, Max (Sherla) Butcher, and Lillian; forty-two grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Fay (Ernie) Wetzel.

Thanks to Intermountain Hospice caregivers. A special thanks to Don and David for all the love and care they gave to mother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray. Viewings will be held at the mortuary on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Thursday from 12:00-12:45 p.m.
Interment at the Murray City Cemetery.
